Course Details

Develop your knowledge of secondary heating systems and domestic hot water with this comprehensive 3-hour online CPD course designed specifically for Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs).

Heating and hot water play a significant role in determining a property's energy efficiency and EPC rating. Correctly identifying heating appliances, hot water systems and their associated controls is essential for producing accurate Energy Performance Certificates and ensuring compliance with current RdSAP conventions and industry guidance.

Throughout this course, you'll explore the different types of secondary heating systems commonly found in domestic properties, including electric heaters, solid fuel appliances, gas fires and room heaters. You'll also gain a detailed understanding of domestic hot water production, storage cylinders, immersion heaters, combi boilers, hot water controls, primary and secondary circulation, and how these systems should be assessed and recorded within RdSAP.

Using practical examples and real-world property scenarios, you'll learn how to identify heating and hot water systems during property inspections, gather the correct evidence and avoid common assessment mistakes that can affect EPC ratings and audit outcomes.

This is a fully online CPD course, meaning there is no classroom attendance, live webinar or face-to-face training required. You can complete the course entirely through the Ozone Group SAMS learner portal, allowing you to study whenever it is convenient for you.

Once you have completed the learning module, you'll take a short online knowledge quiz within the SAMS portal. If you do not achieve the required pass mark on your first attempt, you can retake the quiz as many times as required until you successfully pass the course. As soon as you achieve a pass, your CPD Certificate will be generated automatically and emailed directly to you, providing immediate evidence of your Continuing Professional Development.
